Abstract

The author presents an educational experience in Health Promotion (HP) and Disease Prevention (DP) in undergraduate and postgraduate programs at Nursing School, Universidad Javeriana, Bogotà, Colombia. Initially within the framewoirk of Universidad Javeriana, concepts, models, and strategies around the field of study are presented, all of them are related to HP and DP. Nursing care appears to be the formation constitutional nucleus. There are some particular examples to show the importance of HP and DP in the undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Finally the autor sketches pedagogical styles and models which help develop communication and participation values. There are suggestions about different HP investigations which have been undertaken at the Nursinf School.
