Resumen
La Economía Circular (EC) juega un papel fundamental en el vigor de la sostenibilidad. Hoy en día, instituciones y gobiernos han buscado alternativas para lograr sus objetivos de reducir la generación y disposición de contaminantes. En este trabajo se analiza el proceso de recuperación de calcín mediante un proceso de delaminación de parabrisas dañados en una empresa recicladora. En este estudio se utilizan tres herramientas centradas en la EC: el Indicador de Circularidad de Materiales (MCI), el Conjunto de Herramientas de Economía Circular (CET) y la Evaluación del Ciclo de Vida (LCA). Actualmente, la empresa cuenta con un proceso de delaminación para la recuperación de calcín que consiste en separar mecánicamente el vidrio de un material polimérico llamado polivinil butiral (PVB). Aplicando los principios de la CE se obtuvo un alto valor lineal para la recuperación del calcín y la eliminación del PVB debido a que actualmente los subproductos no son reciclados ni reutilizados; sin embargo, utilizando el principio de simbiosis industrial, el PVB puede reutilizarse en otras industrias, por lo que se mejoraría el índice de circularidad. Según el Análisis del Ciclo de Vida, el proceso actual de delaminación de parabrisas tiene algunos impactos ambientales, que podrían solucionarse modernizando el proceso e instalando un sistema fotovoltaico. Además, la inversión se recuperaría en 3 años.
