Abstract
This article pertains to the historical aspects of research, education,training, and technology transfer of the architecture and earthconstruction. The first part of this article presents a summary of thebackground of the construction techniques, the research involvingthis subject, as well as some of the entities that have collaboratedwith the technological development in Ibero-America; it also presentsthe technological progress throughout time, focusing on itsguidelines. The second part of this article displays peculiaritiesof the educational system, differentiating formal education andtraining, and correlates important educational centers that havecontributed for the education of professionals in Latin America. Thisarticle also presents a summary of the work performed by Cyted, aswell as the contribution by the Project and by the Ibero-american networkProterra in the technology transfer. Finally, this article reflectsupon the technology transfer and, based on the background fromthe authors and the Proterra work, prioritizes the characteristics ofthe transfer team, presenting a brief description of this team.Apuntes is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
