Abstract
This work was developed at the Instituto de Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul - IPHAE and intends to analyze the initial period of industrialization in the State, southern extreme of Brazil. The three urban examples taken, with different variables and distinct characteristics, aims to illustrate some aspects of the industrialization process in different regions of the state territory: Vila Rheingantz (1873), Rio Grande; Vila Belga (1903), Santa Maria and Vila Operária do Frigorífico Armour (1916), Santana do Livramento. In the three examples, their remains, although out of context, still maintain its architectonic readability and the integrity of the place. The identification and preservation of there is vital to its conservation as live witnesses of regional and national memory.Apuntes is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
