Abstract
The Jewish Cemetery in Coro City, unique in Venezuela, keeps historical and cultural values; and it is an example of the aesthetic wealth associated to the Guzmancismo, the same as the European influence in the Venezuelan Statuary, allowing a better understanding of the XIX and XX Century in the City of Coro and the Region. This Cemetery, still in use, was rescued for the City of Coro by the Asociacion Israelita of Venezuela together with government representatives who in 1.970 rehabilitated this precious monument, part and parcel of the collective heritage of the State of Falcon. The Cemetery was formally declared Cultural Patrimony by the Miranda Municipality on December 5, 2003; and on July 20, 2004, it was declared Historical Monument by the State of Falcón. At the present time the Fundacion del Patrimonio Cultural Hebreo Falconiano and the Universidad Nacional Experimental Francisco de Miranda are developing studies in order to include it in the International Network of Cemeteries considered National Heritage places.Cementerio Judío de Coro – Coro (Venezuela); Cementeries – history - Coro (Venezuela); Cultural heritage – Coro (Venezuela); Sephardim - social life and customs - Coro (Venezuela)
