Abstract

School climate is possitively associated with school achievement, but negatively with school violence. However, there is a need to provide valid instruments for Latin American students that can allow for international and transcultural research. This study presents the adaptation and validation of the School Climate Inventory. The instrument was translated into Spanish and validated in a sample of 4 762 Chilean students. The results show adequate psychometric properties of the inventory for its use in research and intervention.
