Abstract
The perception of the disease is related to coping strategies and quality of life. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the mediating role of specific coping strategies in the influence of the perception of low-level expression dermatological diseases on quality of life. Two hundred-twenty participants completed, individually and anonymously, a questionnaire about symptoms, psychological impact, coping strategies and quality of life. Results show that, in people withperception of low-level expression dermatological diseases, the effect of the psychological impact to skin conditions on the quality of life is mediated differentially by coping strategies. While the Positive thinking strategy contributes to maintain the quality of life, the Wishful thinking strategy produces a decrease of the same.This journal is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
