Abstract
Desde la perspectiva profesional de la Historia se han apuntado relaciones claves entre ésta y la Literatura: la Historia de la literatura, donde la primera ofrece sus métodos a la segunda; la literatura histórica, donde el papel de la imaginación puede equilibrar ficción y realidad, el mito enfrentarse con la conciencia histórica o incluso, el creador literario puede potenciar posibles hipótesis históricas que le permiten llenar lagunas que no percibe la historia oficial. Asimismo, la historia se transforma en referente principal para ubicar el momento y la época de un escritor y de una creación o en determinados casos, la creación literaria se constituye en instrumento de la explicación histórica pues su proceso expresivo implica una comprensión de la totalidad de la vida social, es decir, no tanto hechos, sino fenómenos y problemáticas humanas, no tanto episodios, sino estructuras mentales de carácter colectivo.
