Abstract
Galán era otra cosa, era un político que creía en la democracia, que había combatido siempre dentro del sistema, un hombre pacífico al que nos quedaba imposible imaginar con un revólver en la mano o lanzando una granada. Ese crimen no era como los demás, y aunque nos hicieron creer que se trataba sólo de un odio que le tenían a él tanto los políticos tradicionales (corruptos, sucios, tramposos) como los narcotraficantes, había un ingrediente adicional: era un atentado contra la sociedad en general, contra el sistema, contra esa farsa que los poderosos han llamado democracia para justificar todos sus atropellos y sus bajezas. Esa noche, cada uno de nosotros murió un poco. ¿Por qué ese crimen nos dolió tanto? Porque estaba planeado para minar las
bases mismas de lo que hasta entonces había sido nuestra escasa y mínima estabilidad.
