The journal sends messages through the OJS platform to your email account regarding the status of your contribution, so we recommend checking your spam or junk mail folder regularly.

Before submitting your article to the OJS platform, ensure it complies with all established publication guidelines. Note that if your article is approved by the reviewers, the publication time will range between four and six months (up to a year) from the submission date. As soon as the evaluation results are available, authors are promptly informed.
Only one contribution per author is accepted for each issue.
When submitting, ensure to include emails generated by the system among your contacts and check your junk mail folder, as submissions may be automatically diverted by your mail server.
The journal accepts articles in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. Original articles will be translated into English.
Articles should be typed in Word, and figures or tables should be in a separate file in .jpg or .tiff format (high resolution).
Ensure your article meets the following specifications before submission:
• Full title without abbreviations in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, should be short, relevant, and attractive, maximum of 15 words.
• Maximum 250-word abstract, in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. It is recommended that for original research articles, they follow the IOMRC technique (Introduction, Objective, Method, Results, and Conclusions). It must include keywords (four or five) indexed in Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS), BIREME (http://www.bireme.br/php/index.php ), or in the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) of the Index Medicus (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?db=MeSH&term ). In Spanish, English, and Portuguese. Theme review articles should contain: title, abstract, and keywords.
• Do not include any author information or contact details in any part of the manuscript.
• The length should be a minimum of 10 pages and a maximum of 18 pages.
• Each page should be numbered at the bottom right of the sheet. For research, the abstract should include the study objective, basic design, study type, time and place location, interventions, results, and conclusions.
• The text should be in Arial 12-point font, with 3-centimeter margins on all sides, in letter size, and 1.5 spacing.
• Titles and subtitles should be in bold. Do not use underlines or bold within the paragraph.
• Tables and graphics should be mentioned within the text and included at the end of the document. For labeling purposes, attach them in a separate file, following these criteria: tables are always labeled with Arabic numbers at the top, followed by the name or title. Abbreviations are explained with a footnote to the table. Figures, graphs, photographs, drawings, or charts follow the same numbering principle as tables. A maximum of 4 tables and/or figures are accepted.
• If tables or graphics are taken from other articles or books, the source must be indicated, and the respective authorization obtained.
Attach approval letter from the project's ethics committee or informed consent from the patient in exceptional cases.
Bibliographic references, following the Vancouver Guidelines parameters, are cited in the text using Arabic numerals, in parentheses, in the order they are mentioned. It is necessary to cite current sources of information, belonging to indexed journals or scientifically supported primary sources. In the same order, they should appear under the heading "References," according to the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals (Vancouver Guidelines: http://www.icmje.org/ ), as follows:
Journal articles: If there are more than six authors, the first six are cited, followed by "et al." If there are fewer than six, all are cited, followed by the article title, properly abbreviated journal name (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?db=journals&term= ), year, volume and issue of the journal, first and last page, and the article's DOI. Example:
Specify the type of contribution and argue its definition according to the established classification.
Types of Articles
Scientific and technological research articles: Documents that present, in detail, the original results of completed research projects. The structure should consist of five components: Introduction, Objective, Method, Results, and Conclusions.
Their presentation must comply with the following elements.
Text body: The text of research papers should generally be divided into introduction, methods, results, and discussion or conclusions. Long articles may require subheadings, especially in methods and results. In the introduction, it is useful to sequentially address the following points, without extensively reviewing the topic:
The importance of the problem being investigated
What is not known about the problem
Why it would be useful to know it
The study's purpose
Hypothesis to be investigated
Introduction: Include the objective and justification of the work with theoretical-conceptual foundations. In qualitative studies, specify the selected theoretical perspective.
Method: In this section, include the design, description of the study population, sample size, sampling type, inclusion criteria, and subject loss. Describe clearly and precisely the operationalization of variables, measurement, analysis plan, and statistical methods used, allowing for result verification. Present the validity and reliability tests of the measurement instruments, define statistical terms, abbreviations, and symbols, and indicate the software programs used. When dealing with studies involving humans, specify if the procedures used have respected the criteria. Attach, if applicable, the informed consent letter and approval from the institutional ethics committee.
Results: Present them logically in the text. Emphasize or summarize only the relevant findings and do not repeat table, figure, and illustration data in the text. Ensure that the order and sequence of these are consistent with their presentation.
Discussion and conclusions: Derive from the analysis of the results and study purposes, highlighting new or relevant aspects, as well as explaining the findings. Compare the results with other similar studies, link the conclusions to the study objectives, and how they contribute to the field of nursing knowledge. Statements must be fully supported by the data presented, and also mention the study's limitations. For qualitative studies, it is important to establish relevant theoretical connections.

Observational studies STROBE https://www.strobe-statement.org/
Systematic reviews PRISMA http://www.prisma-statement.org/?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1
Case reports CARE https://www.care-statement.org/
Qualitative research COREQ https://academic.oup.com/intqhc/article/19/6/349/1791966
Each article must ALWAYS have a clarification section at the end of the text, before the list of references, using the following categories:
Funding (mandatory): Provide information related to the sponsoring institution of the research from which the article derives, attach the "Project Information" form in PDF or Word format. If none, write "None."
Acknowledgments (optional): Contributions that are necessary will be included in the Acknowledgments section. However, not all contributions justify authorship, such as general support given by a department head, scientific advisors, reviewers, data collectors, typists, etc.
Conflict of Interest: Include a description of the conflicts of interest presented by the authors or a statement that there are no conflicts of interest. When declaring potential conflicts of interest, consider the journal's conflict of interest policy found here.
In case of self-citation within the article, this practice will be evaluated by the editorial committee to identify its relevance; it will only be considered if explicit recognition of the content is required in the development of the topic (example: instruments or theories developed by the author).
Along with the manuscript, the author(s) must attach a cover letter addressed to the Editor. In this letter, provide the following details for each author: name, institutional affiliation, position, and email address. It is essential for authors to have an Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID), which can be obtained at https://orcid.org/. Additionally, a declaration letter of the manuscript's originality is required. In the case of classroom research articles, approval letter from the Faculty's ethics committee is necessary. These documents should be uploaded as additional files and will not be part of the manuscript sent to the reviewers.
If the article has more than 5 authors, a letter detailing each of their specific contributions is required.
Universitas Médica reserves the right to make modifications to the text of manuscripts solely for the purpose of improving their writing and editing, when absolutely necessary.
