Abstract

Esta revisión de la literatura hace un recorrido histórico por los antecedentes y fundamentos relacionados con el sellado e infiltrado de lesiones tempranas de caries interproximal. Incluye los avances desde la investigación en el área de la caries dental, su diagnóstico y estrategias de manejo preventivo enfocadas en el manejo lesiones tempranas de caries interproximal. Con respecto a los materiales dentales, se exploran algunos actualmente disponibles y en desarrollo, para la prevención de lesiones de caries y el manejo de lesiones tempranas interproximales, sustentados en estudios in vitro, in situ y estudios clínicos a la fecha. Finalmente, se presenta una discusión de su utilidad clínica y perspectivas.
