Abstract
Los autores hacen un recorrido histórico y teórico por el concepto de representación y lo ubican en dos procesos: uno que va del interior del organismo de un individuo hacia el mundo exterior y otro que viene del mundo exterior hacia interior del sujeto. El primero designa un proceso de construcción de la realidad que se "presenta" como mimesis y que tiene como fin la puesta en escena de una realidad conocida; y el segundo, que hace referencia a la percepción y la cognición. Exponen los diferentes tipos de representación (colectiva, social, mental y política), y las transformaciones y rupturas del concepto desde el punto de vista de la comunicación, hasta llegar al planteamiento de la crisis misma del concepto y su necesidad de ser renombrado y recategorizado.This journal is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
