Abstract
Este artículo propone un recorrido reconstructivo e interpretativo por dos textos antiguos: el Encomio de Helena, de Gorgias, y el Gorgias, de Platón. Por medio de este recorrido se busca hacer un análisis de las indeas de manipulación y auditorio, así como sus relaciones con la retórica antigua. Se pretende, además, mostrar cómo la presencia de una multitud ignorante, la muchedumbre, parece ser una condición necesaria para emprender una reflexión acerca de al retórica y su poder, tanto en Gorgias como en Platón. Desde esta óptica, se quiere mostrar cómo la idea del receptor manipulable no es un producto completamente original de las investigaciones tradicionales en comunicación.This journal is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
