Abstract

X chromosome markers analysis has been used widely in the clinical genetics area, particularly in molecular diseases X-linked analysis. Recently, many short tandem repeats (Short Tandem Repeats, STRs) on this chromosome has been recognized, by importance in forensic and paternity analysis. The gonosomal markers are particularly efficient resolve difficult cases, since the odds of half exclusion outweigh the STR autosomes markers.
