Abstract

Social skills have a fundamental role in the lives of college students. With this review, an analysis of the state of the art on social skills in university students is carried out. During the month of February 2021, a search was carried out in the Web of Science database for the descriptors “social skills” and “university students”, the results of which reached a total of 2501, in the period 2017-2021. After refining and applying the categories and inclusion criteria, a total of 13 articles were selected. The results of this review work show that there is an educational need to change the evaluation model based on objectives-content to a model based on objectives-competencies, given the symbiotic role that this psychosocial variable has with the learning strategies of the students, the academic performance, motivation, as well as in the process of educational, vocational, professional and work orientation.
