Abstract

This article is a general introduction to the concepts from which the research study “Passions: A Cinematographic Set-up” was carried out. In particular, the concept of passion is introduced from a current perspective whereby it is defined as a language, with its own cognitive and strategic logic. Next, the author presents the methodology used for creating a model to analyze passions in cinema: the cinema as a system of representations and the staging of passions itself. The results of the analysis are then presented and, in the conclusions, new research possibilities are projected.
