Resumen

El nervio radial es un nervio comúnmente lesionado; el tratamiento de elección actual es la transferencia de tendón, sin embargo, el objetivo de este estudio es proponer la transferencia de nervio mediano como tratamiento quirúrgico de preferencia para la recuperación de extensión de la muñeca y movilidad individual de los dedos posterior a la lesión del nervio radial. Se realizó una revisión de la literatura usando terminología MESH como: nervio radial, transferencia de nervio y lesión de nervio periférico para la búsqueda de reportes de caso, artículos de revisión, estudios descriptivos y cohortes publicados desde el año 1990 hasta el 2020. Se excluyeron artículos escritos en idiomas diferentes a inglés o español y estudios realizados en animales. Se encontraron 22 artículos de técnica quirúrgica de transferencia nerviosa, 11 de lesiones nerviosas, 4 de anatomía del nervio radial y mediano, 4 reportes de caso, 6 revisiones sistemáticas en donde se describe el recorrido anatómico de los nervios comúnmente utilizados, la técnica quirúrgica, las ventajas y complicaciones de la intervención. La transferencia de nervio mediano a radial tiene potencial para ser el tratamiento quirúrgico de elección en lesiones distales de nervio radial con pérdida de función generando buenos resultados funcionales.
