Resumo

A literatura indica que o “career calling” (vocação profissional/chamado de carreira) pode ter efeitos tanto positivos quanto negativos em nível individual. Este artigo apresenta uma revisão sistemática de 121 estudos empíricos que examinam o papel do “calling” nas respostas afetivas, comportamentos e bem-estar dos indivíduos. Os resultados sugerem que, embora muitos estudos destaquem os múltiplos benefícios do “calling”, seus efeitos negativos permanecem pouco explorados. Além disso, o campo é predominantemente liderado por países anglo-saxões, europeus e asiáticos, com o estudo do “calling” ainda emergente no contexto latino-americano. Finalmente, pesquisas futuras devem desenvolver metodologias mais inovadoras para aprimorar a compreensão dos processos subjacentes aos efeitos do “calling”.
