Abstract
El presente artículo describe y analiza Ias percepciones, usos y respuestas que Ias mujeres afrocolombianas pobres de Ia ciudad de Buenaventura dan a 10s problemas de atención a Ia salud reproductiva. Eventos como nacer, morir, enfermar y atender Ia salud, si bien ocurren en el cuerpo, deben pensarse como hechos socioculturales respecto de 10s cuales 10s distintos grupos de población construyen acciones, técnicas e ideologías. Es entonces desde esta premisa que me aproximo a Ias situaciones que Ilevan a Ias mujeres afrocolombianas pobres a utilizar 10s dos principales sistemas de atención que hay en Ia ciudad, el hegemónico o biomédico y el tradicional. En el artículo busco dilucidar cómo Ia decisión de estas mujeres de optar por una u otra forma de atención a Ia salud está mediada por factores de orden geográfico, cultural, social y económico.
