Abstract
The Therapeutic Residential Service is a dwelling present in the community, intended for the care of patients with mental disorders discharged from psychiatric and custodial hospitals who remained in these for a long period and have broken socio-family ties. We conducted a survey of the laws of the state of MG in order to analyze those that subsidized the promotion of existing SRTs and what are the advances and challenges of this policy. This is an article of literature review conducted through the portal "Legislative Research" of the executive branch of MG using the keywords "Therapeutic Residential Services", "Therapeutic Residential Service", "Dehospitalization", "substitutive services" and "Deinstitutionalization". A total of 307 legislations were identified and 4 were included in the study between 1995 and 2022. It was identified that the norms followed a linearity, always incorporating new rules, parameters and characterizing the service, with no significant changes regarding elements already put in place and that it is necessary a broad debate with municipal and state managers regarding the strengthening of the RAPS for the social reintegration of users who still follow in psychiatric hospitals of the State aiming at care in freedom.
