Resumen
En este artículo se describen los sistemas avanzados de planeación y programación (APS). Se presenta su evolución desde el MRP, pasando por la Teoría de las Restricciones. Se presentan sus principales características y se analizan casos de implantación para determinar los principales factores a tener en cuenta para obtener los beneficios esperados de ésta. Finalmente se analizan las tendencias a nivel mundial y nacional con respecto a estos sistemas.
