Abstract
El liquen plano oral es una enfermedad de carácter autoinmune mucocutánea crónica y etiología desconocida. Las lesiones se presentan en la cavidad oral, la piel, las uñas y también pueden tener expresiones en los folículos pilosos de la cabeza. Presenta diversas formas clínicas entre las que se encuentra el patrón reticular, atrófico y erosivo. Este último es la forma clínica más asociada con una transformación maligna de las lesiones bucales. El diagnóstico es clínico-patológico y el tratamiento se basa en la terapia antiinflamatoria con corticoides tópicos y sistémicos cuando se presenten las lesiones. En este artículo se describe el caso clínico de un paciente que acudió al servicio de estomatología y cirugía oral de la Corporación Universitaria Rafael Núñez, con impresión clínica y patológica de liquen plano oral. Se empleó manejo farmacológico de las lesiones con una mezcla de hidrocortisona (corticoide), vitamina A no ácida, vitamina E y lidocaína de Orabase. Se observaron buenos resultados con esta terapia.
