Resumen




El artículo busca entender cómo los estudiantes de clases bajas y medias-bajas viven subjetivamente su ingreso y estadía en ocho instituciones universitarias de élite en Chile. Utilizando la metodología de retratos sociológicos, los resultados muestran que, si bien estos jóvenes perciben su ingreso a la universidad de élite como un logro, a su vez, enfrentan una fuerte presión de sus familias, una constante angustia por la desadaptación social con la que conviven en el espacio universitario de élite, además de la dedicación que tienen que tener hacia el estudio y, por tanto, la renuncia a actividades y sociabilidades juveniles.
