Abstract
This article is a result of a series of deliberations of the author's research trajectory in the field of interculturality. The interest in deepening the process of identity construction of ethnic-cultural minorities reveals the presence of multiple contexts of inequality, which are generated by the receiving societies. From a critical perspective, the paper reflects on the need for these people, as subaltern subjects, to appropriate their discourse, and free themselves from the hegemonic interpretation that cultural identity scholars often make of cognitive, affective and moral conceptions of these minorities.
