Resumo
Introdução. Dada a alta carga de doenças crônicas não transmissíveis e o sofrimento grave, é importante estudar os cuidados paliativos nos sistemas públicos de saúde. Objetivo. Analisar as estratégias de avaliação do desenvolvimento de cuidados paliativos. Material e métodos. Foi realizada uma revisão sistemática da literatura utilizando dois motores de busca: pubMed e Embase, sendo selecionados artigos que avaliam o desenvolvimento dos cuidados paliativos em pelo menos dois países. A qualidade dos estudos foi avaliada de acordo com as fontes de informação utilizadas para a construção das estratégias de avaliação. Os resultados são apresentados em uma síntese narrativa. Resultados. Foram identificadas 15 estratégias de avaliação de cuidados paliativos que compartilham uma estrutura comum, e foi estabelecida uma classificação segundo sua metodologia em quatro grupos: registro, classificação nominal, classificação numérica e estratégias mistas. Conclusões. A classificação das estratégias de avaliação dos cuidados paliativos facilitará a escolha do modelo mais adequado às necessidades de cada contexto, bem como a identificação dos meios necessários para garantir a implementação universal nos sistemas de saúde.
