Abstract

this text approaches the discourse on school violence from the viewpoint of historically constructed regimes of visibility. Also, it briefly describes how the concepts of youth, school culture and juvenile culture are used in studies on school violence. For sociological reflections on the different ways to define school violence and its relation to juvenile populations, it is necessary to accept that the analytical determinations of these concepts may conserve or transform reality, and that the approach of a social researcher is also a political approach.
