Abstract
Investigative skills are important in higher education, since they foster the development of a critical, creative and innovative thought, the creation of knowledge, the development of methodological skills and professional autonomy, among other benefits. The aim of this article is to characterize the strategies employed in higher education to form investigative skills. This article presents the results of a review of 46 articles published between 2018 and 2022 in Scopus and Web of Science. They focus on describing the investigative skills that are developed, investigative practices, the relationship between the teacher and students and the prospects of the educational agents regarding investigative practices. By way of a conclusion, the study highlights strategies like increasing the motivation of students to participate in investigative procedures, the strengthening of the teacher-student relationship and the inclusion of investigative practices in order to awaken a liking for investigation and promote the development of different investigative skills, among them, methodologies.
