Abstract




This essay seeks to give a historical and theoretical view of media education. Some general references to the discours- es that have arisen with innovations in communicative technologies illustrate the route of a media education that has operated in an implicit way since antiq- uity. these historical considerations serve as a base to present the specific traits of a new media education that distances from traditional protectionist views. Finally, some challenges are sketched which media pedagogics face in the age of interactive technologies.
