Abstract

Heroin is one of the most used, potentially addictive drugs, synthetically derived from morphine, with multiple adverse effects in its use. A case of pulmonary edema associated with heroin use is presented, as a complication of the abuse of this illicit drug. Clinical suspicion and clinical identification, complementary to the images, are key to the diagnosis. Its recommended to take into account as a differential diagnosis the use of illicit drugs in patients with unclear symptoms in the emergency services.
