Abstract

This article tries to question the definitions, developments and scope of ethnic education, understood as education by and for indigenous and Afro-Colombian peoples. Through an analysis of interethnic differences in Andean and Amazon indigenous educational approaches, with regard to their link with church-related education and, pretensions of application and tackling of inter-culturally based relationships of the Afro-Colombian Studies courses, the article sees how these educations are embedded into control technologies and power relations in which multiculturalism as state public policy aimed at ethnicized subjects is produced in Colombia.
