Abstract

This paper presents the results of a study whose aim was to characterize the conceptions and pedagogical practices of a group of teaching staff ascribed to the University of Santo Tomas, Bucaramanga campus, Colombia. The study was conducted using an interpretative approach based on a case study that included quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results show certain contradictions between conceptions, actions and feelings of the group of lecturers. Although there are a variety of pedagogical models present in the classrooms, traditional behaviorist practices prevail.
