Abstract
The advancement of social security and economic benefits to cover times sick leave generates a crisis between the administrative issues and the exercise of health professions, in which to protect the interest of the patient and the ethical practice of medicine there is a need to develop an autonomous and responsible exercise. We present the definitions, basic concepts, standards and ethics aspects inherent in Colombia, issuing criteria and recommendations for proper expedition of health Certificates including the economic, legal and social topics.
