Resumen

La trombosis de la vena gonadal es una enfermedad poco frecuente, asociada a estados de hipercoagulabilidad. Se presenta principalmente en el período postparto, o en menor frecuencia en otras condiciones gineco obstétricas como cesáreas, abortos, neoplasias ginecológicas y en enfermedad pélvica inflamatoria (EPI). Este documento es una revisión de casos de la literatura asociada a un reporte de un caso con presentación no habitual de esta entidad que nos lleva a recordar esta condición como diagnóstico diferencial en dolor abdominopélvico agudo, así como su enfoque diagnóstico y tratamiento en el departamento de emergencias.
