Abstract

Three narratives shared by three individuals who are living different biographical moments, who still share the same desire, to die with dignity, free themselves and rest from a life where autonomy and control of one's own being get blurred are presented. Aiming to get the reader to approach in the most faithful way the experiences, feelings and experiences of those who tell their narratives, a structure has been designed in this reflection article where the three stories are shared initially and subsequently a brief analysis is done in the final considerations section, where the relevance of understanding the perspectives regarding dignity, autonomy and control was stated; high spotting how these perspectives can vary depending on how people see themselves at different biographical moments, the way they are seen by others, what is more how the nature of their diseases affects their lives and their identity, with reference to the ability to control physical functions in their immediate environment (1).
