Abstract

A 53-year-old patient with previous history of schizoid-affective disorder consulted for asthenia and adynamia, was diagnosed as depressive crisis and was hospitalized in an acute mental health unit. Malnutrition, ferropenic anemia and hypovitaminosis B12 were noticed. The approach to the patient with severe mental disorder must be free of the stigma related to the mental illness in order to offer integral and optimal health care services.
