Resumo

Los meningiomas representan los tumores meníngeos benignos más comunes, cuya expresión clínica se encuentra directamente relacionada con su dimensión, ubicación y subsecuente compresión del tejido neural contiguo. Generalmente, el diagnóstico es un hallazgo incidental. Las alternativas de tratamiento pueden variar de paciente a paciente y, en algunos casos, el manejo quirúrgico puede ser un desafío. El presente reporte de caso corresponde al de un paciente atendido en el servicio de urgencias del Hospital Universitario San Ignacio en el 2012, a quien se le descubrió un meningioma selar gigante asociado con un síndrome frontal florido secundario.
