Abstract
Medical education has been confronted with the rapid changes brought by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. The professors of the Department of Pediatrics of the Faculty of Medicine of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana need to make modifications and face the challenges of technologies to give academic continuity to undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the area of pediatrics, as well as adjusting practices to ensure medical training. The adaptation of the way of teaching in virtuality was carried out at all levels of training, showing that adequate training and use can achieve quality learning, making remote education a current complement to the student´s academic pediatrics program. Decreased exposure to the clinical environment due to the effects of the pandemic will likely have an impact on future performance in certain areas of medical professionals whose impact requires further study. Continued investment is required in pedagogical innovations and research in medical education.
